Scott A. Newman has been an associate with Ruby & Associates since August 2017. He is active in all of the firm’s practice areas including family law, divorce, dissolution, legal separation, parentage, child and spousal support, child custody, parenting time, domestic violence civil protection orders, prenuptial agreements, personal injury, and basic estate planning.
Scott was drawn to the legal field because of his strong desire to assist others. He is committed to helping his clients through their difficult times by understanding each client’s individual situation and treating each client with compassion and sympathy.
Scott received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Akron School of Law. While in law school, he was the Juvenile Court Coordinator for the Summit County Public Defender from 2012-2013 where he trained law students to meet with juveniles to gather information before their arraignments.
Prior to joining Ruby and Associates, Scott was a Judicial Attorney and Deputy Bailiff for Judge Mary R. Kovack of the Medina County Domestic Relations Court.
In his free time, Scott gives back to the local community by volunteering and serving on several boards.
Scott lives in Fairlawn with his wife.
