Darcie Jay is an associate attorney with Ruby & Associates and has been with the firm since 2015. Darcie is active in all of the firm’s practice areas including family law, prenuptial agreements, divorce, dissolution of marriage, legal separation, child and spousal support, custody, parenting time, domestic violence protection orders, and basic estate planning.
Darcie received her Juris Doctorate in Taxation from the University of Akron School of Law. She was a winner of the Briner, Catanzarite & Rakas Scholarship, and devoted her time as a volunteer with the Expungement Clinic, as well as Wills for Heroes. As an undergraduate, Darcie attended the University of Akron where she was on the Dean's list, a Finance Board Scholarship recipient, and a member of the Financial Management National Honor Society. She graduated cum laude, earning a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Financial Services with a Concentration in Real Estate.
Prior to joining Ruby & Associates, Darcie was a skilled senior stockbroker with more than eight years of experience working at a large discount brokerage firm. Additionally, she has more than two years of public accounting experience, along with innumerable hours of pro bono legal work.
One of Darcie’s strengths is her ability to balance candor with a genuine compassion for each and every person she meets. She possesses an inherent sensitivity for the emotional turmoil her clients may experience throughout the legal process.
Darcie is a well-accomplished woman dedicated to public service in her community. She is a board member for Project:LEARN of Medina County, and a Councilwoman and Chair of the Finance Committee in the lakeside community of Gloria Glens.
Darcie grew up working hard on her parents’ farm in Medina County, helping to take care of horses, chickens and a variety of other animals. She is a devoted wife to her high school sweetheart and they have a handsome and spirited son at their home in Medina.
